Amazing Spider-Man #129 Facsimile Edition is a faithful reproduction of the legendary 1974 comic in which the Punisher, Frank Castle, makes his first appearance. Written by Gerry Conway and drawn by Ross Andru, the issue also features the classic cover by Gil Kane. In the story, the Punisher is manipulated by the Jackal into going after Spider-Man, whom he sees as a threat.
This first clash between Spider-Man and the Punisher launched a rivalry that remains one of the most important in Marvel history.
