Description
Avengers #9 from the 1998 third series is the second and final part of “The Villain Who Fell from Grace with the Earth,” written by Kurt Busiek. The issue features art by George Pérez, inks by Al Vey, and a George Pérez cover.
The story continues as the Avengers head into the Caribbean Sea to infiltrate Moses Magnum’s luxury floating amusement center. Magnum possesses a dangerous seismic cannon stolen from an airport, and his powers have recently been boosted by Apocalypse. The problem is that Magnum cannot fully control his newly amplified destructive abilities.
A dramatic confrontation unfolds in the central laboratory, where Hawkeye, Triathlon, and the rest of the Avengers, including Silverclaw, face Moses Magnum while the entire U.S. East Coast is put at risk. After the battle, Hawkeye decides to leave the team in order to go searching for the Thunderbolts, leading into the events of Thunderbolts #20–21. This issue also features a special gatefold cover.
The Avengers appearing in this issue include Captain America, Firestar, Hawkeye, Iron Man, Justice, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Wonder Man, with a cameo by Jarvis. The comic is in VF (Very Fine) condition, which means very good condition with only minor signs of wear. It may show small surface scratches, slightly worn corners, or light bends, but overall it remains well preserved and attractive. This condition is highly valued by collectors. We are not a professional grading company, and all grades are assigned to the best of our knowledge and estimate. Customers should always assess the comic’s condition for themselves using the provided front and back photos.
