Description
Avengers Annual #21 is a special annual issue published in 1991 and forms part of the larger Citizen Kang storyline, specifically the fourth chapter titled “Kang’s World.” The story was written by Mark Gruenwald, with pencils by Herb Trimpe, inks by Charles Barnett and Brad Vancata, and a cover by Dan Panosian.
In the story, the Avengers face a group of Anachronauts, warriors from different timelines sent by Kang to defeat a team of nine major 20th-century heroes, including the Fantastic Four. The plot continues from Fantastic Four Annual #25 and follows the conflict in the mysterious city of Chronopolis, Timely, Wisconsin. As Kang’s plans unfold, Terminatrix (Ravonna) turns against him, causing chaos in Chronopolis and complicating the battle even further.
The issue also includes smaller bonus features such as “The Avengers’ Top Ten Villains,” “Secrets of the Avengers Communicard,” and “Boy’s Night Out!”, which expand the context of the issue and its characters. A major part of the story is the gradual collapse of Kang’s power as the Avengers and their allies fight to stop the time-spanning invasion.
The comic is in FN (Fine) condition, which according to collector standards means good condition with moderate signs of wear. It may show slightly worn corners, minor folds, surface scratches, or light discoloration of the pages, but it is complete and all pages are readable. Overall, it remains well preserved and suitable for a collection. We are not a professional grading company, and all grades are assigned to the best of our knowledge and estimate.
