“War of the Gods: Part 1 of 6” opens this story arc, with a brief Daredevil appearance in the backup feature “Enter the Earth Force!” Written by Tom DeFalco, with art by Ron Frenz and inks by Brett Breeding, the main story sees Thor caring for the injured Fandral in a hospital. Meanwhile, Seth, the serpentine god of death, creates the Earth Force—Windwarrior, Skyhawk, and Earthlord—to attack Thor and finish off Fandral. The issue also features Hogun, Volstagg, and Balder, and is supplemented by Bullpen Bulletins and readers’ letters. The comic runs 36 full-color pages, with an original cover price of $0.75.
