Description
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #234 is a 1960 Dell issue, also listed as Vol. 20 #6, and it brings together a strong lineup of Disney classics from the peak of the comic-book Disney era. The issue is associated with Carl Barks, the legendary “Good Duck Artist,” and includes Donald Duck material such as Riding the Pony Express, where Donald and the nephews recreate the Pony Express with unexpected adventures. It also features Mickey Mouse and Goofy in a Hawaiian plantation story about a pineapple poacher, along with Scamp protecting a delivered package from intrigue.
Additional stories in the issue include Chip ’n Dale material such as “Too Much Time” and “The Missing Dough,” giving the book a classic anthology feel that was typical of the title’s era. The issue features a Tony Strobl cover and interior art contributions associated with Al Hubbard, Jack Bradbury, Carl Fallberg, and Paul Murry, helping make it a representative snapshot of early 1960s Disney comics. Graded CGC 5.0, this copy is in Fine condition, showing the kind of wear expected on a well-read vintage Disney comic while still remaining a solid collector piece.
