This Facsimile Edition precisely reproduces the original December 1994 issue of Wolverine #88, written by Larry Hama with art by Adam Kubert, Fabio Laguna, Mark Farmer, and Tim Townsend. The story delivers the first true comic-book confrontation between Wolverine and Deadpool: Wade Wilson, enraged that his ex-girlfriend Vanessa Carlysle (Copycat) is now with fellow Weapon X subject Garrison Kane, trashes Kane’s San Francisco apartment and opens fire on Wolverine when Logan arrives to check on his friend. What follows is a brutal, no-holds-barred stab-and-slash fight that tests both mutants’ healing factors to the limit—culminating in Deadpool tossing a grenade and escaping, leaving Logan alive but barely.
This 32-page, full-color facsimile includes all original story pages and period advertisements, faithfully recreating the 1994 reading experience. The facsimile was released on July 24, 2024, with an original cover price of $4.99.
